Exploring the famous Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu Valley, the Everest Base Camp Trek

The trip begins as you arrive in Nepal and land at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Then,
you get on a flight over the lush hills and head to Lukla. From here, the trek begins as you
have a short trek to Phakding. The trail from Phakding heads along the banks of the Bhote
Koshi River and enters the boundaries of the Sagarmatha National Park. Next, the trek
heads to Namche Bazaar, which is one of the most prominent stops on the EBC trail. Here,
you stop for an extra day and explore the famous locations like Khumjung, Khunde, and
Everest View Hotel. As the trek heads east, you cross Sanasa village and reach Tengboche.
The trail ascends as you head to Dingboche after exploring the Tengboche Monastery. Here,
you acclimatize for a day where you hike to Nangkar Tshang Peak (5616m). Heading further
north, you will visit the memorial for mountaineers who lost their lives during the Everest
expedition and trek to Lobuche. Trekking along the Khumbu Glacier, the trail becomes arid
and reaches the Everest Base Camp. From the base camp, you can relish the panorama of
mountains like Nuptse (7861m) and Pumo Ri (7165m).
Moreover, the scenery of the Khumbu Glacier and Icefall guarantee a memorable time. Next,
you return to Gorakshep and prepare for the hike on the next day. You will hike to the
Kalapatthar viewpoint and witness the majesty of Mt. Everest (8848m) along with other
mountains like Lhotse (8516m), Cho Oyu (8201m), and Nuptse (7861m). The return trek
retraces its way back to Lukla via Pheriche, Tengboche, and Namche.
